The Suir Active Retirement Group has brought colour and comfort to the Children’s Ward in University Hospital Waterford through a wonderful act of kindness. Their team of dedicated knitters have created a collection of beautiful soft handmade blankets that will be gifted to children who are staying on the ward.

Each blanket has been made with great care and attention. The colours are bright and cheerful and the patterns are full of character. These blankets will give warmth and reassurance to children who may be feeling anxious or unwell. It is a simple gesture that carries a great deal of meaning and it reflects the very best of community spirit.

Juniors for Juniors presented Sara, Kartrina and Kate who were some of the team on duty on the ward with the blankets. They will be shared with children throughout the year and they will help to create a more welcoming environment on the ward.
